Here is a fine example of a very old hybrid that was remade recently. It is a very strong grower and has great presence in flower. It is a cross of Phrag. Cardinale x Phrag. Sedenii and was originally registered in 1894. So basically it is schlimii 3 times and longifoliun 2 times.
I love many of the newer hybrids but I have a soft spot for some of the oldies that have stood the test of time.

Dear Sir,
I agree with you. We have forgotten in the time of the crosses with Phrag. besseae how beautifuls some old hybrids are.
We should learn that also crosses with Phrag. schlimii or/and Phrag. longifolium produce very attractive hybrids which grow and flower very easy in culture.
Best greetings from Bavaria

Jeff,
I've no idea how I missed this post from the second day we opened, but I did!
Lovely photo (as always) of your lovely hybrid (as always!) I really like the pouch coloring on these plants made with Cardinale. Gorgeous vibrancy!
