You should post the three blooms open at once photo, that was amazing! (Not that this one isn't!) I really like the one that isn't open yet. She looks so shy!

I know, don't you just love the way the bud opens so elegantly?

OK, here is the photo you requested.

It is very rare you see 3 bess flowers open at once unless you see a della in bloom which you know is a true multifloral.

Looks amazingly like my Phrag. dallesandroi. It bloomed last year for the first time on a two fan growth. Both fans spiked - one sporting two flowers, the other spike sporting four flowers. The color was a deep orange - no salmon coloring at all.

Unfortunately, I am not a good photographer, and all my pics came out a little out of focus. Will try again this year.

Repotted my Phrag. dallesandroi and schlimii in diatomite earlier this year. Curious to see how they take to the new medium...

Hi!

I'm just curious to know where you got your d'allesandroi from, if you don't mind me asking? It is a very hard to find species. Thanks!

Thanks, Eric! It was indeed a rare sight to see a besseae with 3 flowers open at once. This besseae is still in bloom and it has been in bloom for months!

Here is the last flower on my red besseae. :( I would have to wait another year or so for the next flowering. Sniff! sniff! The flower is beginning to look wilted so I took one last shot of it next to the yellow besseae.

They're gorgeous! I'm still waiting, and totally jealous...
Mine are growing but still....makes me jealous. I want to see my own red bess in bloom! (we need an impatient moti!)

I love that last photo! My besseae is on its last flower as well....they just don't last as long as I wish they did.

Is your flava besseae branching?? It looks like a bud growing out at the base of the spike. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, but that bess was GORGEOUS! I remember you emailing me the pic in St. Vincent. So, blooming since February - sweeet!
