Den Keithii is a medium to large epiphyte which only grows in Thailand. It grows at a low altitude which has well defined seasons.

Stems are pendulous and up to 40cm long.

Aerial growths are produced regularly.

Main flowering is late winter to spring but occasionally flowers can appear at any time.

Slab culture is best but a hanging pot can also be effective.

Needs warm conditions but will tolerate intermediate temps if given a watering rest period during winter to early spring. But watering should not be stopped completely during this period.

Filtered sunlight is best but flowering may not happen if light levels are too low.

I obtained this information from a book called "Dendrobium and its relatives" by Lavarack, Harris and Stocker. This plant was new to me too so I thought I'd look it up. It does look interesting, I hope you have some nice tropical conditions there to grow it.

Darren

Thanks Darren

I tend to go in to hiding most of the weekend - good book that one. Got a storm coming and a wedding reception to attend in an hour and a half so I'm getting my 'Net time in now.

Cheers
