Hello
I got ten Ulla Silkens from Lidafors (Malmgren) this morning (minimum order). They are 3.5 year.
I was told that one would be a monster an I have tried to get that on picture but I do not succid that well.
I must say I was very nicely surpriced. Of the ten it was not only one monster it was a nice ditribution.
One small, two normal, three big, three very big and one monster. The size was not the only thing better than normal but that was so many with multi growths or buds. The monster had 4 clear and 2 maybe and the very bigs had 3, the bigs 2 and the normal and smal 1 bud. I also got a bonus plant of different secret sort so I am very happy with this buying.:poke: For the moment they "only" have Ulla Silkens but with the variaty of that hybrid it might be worth having many. In the spring they will get new.

Here is the picture

I have tried to show the monster but I might have been to exited today so the picture did not come out that well. The match box is 1 inch by 2 inch 2.5 cm X 5cm for scaling. This is to get the nice plansts seen.
The plants were 14€ each with vat (25%) so compared to what I have got from others it has been the best price performance so far.
Here You can see their web page and also order. The different sorts of Ulls silkens is also seen there. One that has much more of flavum than usually. I hope I get a nice mix from these lovely hybrids.

Sorry for the not so good quality of the picture but I wanted to share with You anyway
Happy growing

Cool Joakim! You will no doubt have a lovely patch of these going  It is good you got more than one since the variation with this plant is so large. Really we need to get a reliable method for meristem culture of Cyps so that desirable clones can be identified and propagated. Anyway, enjoy your new "friends", and please do post shots in the spring of them in flower! What "secret" :Shh: plant did you get? Come on, you can tell us! :poke:

No fair keeping secrets! After all, if it is really rare we all want to be able to beg pollen from you!

Sorry Ron and Tom
I am sworn to secracy :)
And it is fun having secrets even if it is hard to keep them. :)
They have not registrated it yet (maybe because it is not blooming yet) and before that I am sworn to secracy. If You look at the hybrid section of their webpage in the end they are talking about what they have and what the future will bring. (HINT)
The one I got is also 3.5 years and with at least 2 buds. Compared to Ulla silkens it is thinner roots and maybe smaller. The plant is supposed to be smaller than Ulla Silkens (now) at the same age according to Henric Nysroem. I think it will be a nice contribution to the better hybrids. The question is what will the flower be like?

I do not think they will flower this spring but next :) If I am lucky the monster Ulla Silkens might flower they have a 20% blooming 4 years after sowing for Ulla sSilkens so maybe I get somone else blooming aswell.

I also saw the hybrid meantioned on a swedish webpage but I think You can figure out the hybrid I have got If you check the Lidafors webpage.

Ron If I get any pollen I will for sure contact You and If there will be more flowers I will try to play around to get seed. ( The idea of playing God and test to make hybrides exites me, but maybe that should be toned down not to get hybris and no flowers or surviving plants. ) Are You able to send seedlings to Europe or is there restrictions even if they are flasked? I will try not to "sell the skinn before I have shot the bear" but it is fun to know what the future might bring or have for possibilities.
I have planted the seedlings so I can not take any new pictures (I forgot the camera at work). So next photos will be on the plants and maybe on how I will try to grow them.

Thanks for the response

Joakim

Regarding the meristem
How can these people talk about 3-4 types of regine if they have not got it going!! Anyone who knows?
http://www.bockbioscience.de/garten.htm Reginae is not colour pure ecept for the pure alba. The vent or mac might be true to colour the "Czarina" or what do people here say about having these variants as different plants.?
Btw can anyone see if I am right in guessing the origin of Czarina to be vent and "native baron" to be parviflorum? Of course onle guessses but more or less correct.

This other website is also talking about meristem but in German. I think he tried to do it with Gisela. He seems to say that it needs improvment. (that is an understatement from me)
Anyone better in German is wellcome to comment this.
