I have never seen in situ pics of mexis but don't they grow in desert like conditions where nights are cool and days are warm?

Hi Casey

They grow in quite dry condition, I have read.

I cant say I grow my that way.... but it grows alot :-)

I have been growing it in the rockwool mix called "Green mix" for severall years, and it grows and blooms fine.

But still I would love to see photos of it in the wild.

:D

Yes desert like conditions would be dry and they do have that succulent cactus like feel to them. Do you have any pics of your plants?

Do these grow fast or slow?

Hi
It grows ... not fast, but not too slow either.
That didnt tell you alot, I guess :D, but will not call it a slow grower.

I will try, if I can find out how to upload a picture.

:-)

I haven't seen any in situ pictures of this species, but it would be interesting. When this species was discovered, it was endemic to a small area and very few plants were found. Divisions of these plants are what seems to be available, but it does seem quite easy to grow and bloom.

Thanks guys

It will be much better looking, after repotting into a new bonzai tray in sping.

But it is helthy, and has 4 leads ..... could have been 5 if I didnt break one after trying to turn it.

yes only 7 plants was ever found..., any new will be welcome :hyper:
:D

Yes thé past 2 summers it has bloomed. Each time from 1 growth.
After I have cut the rhizome a few places it now has 4 leads, so the comming season looks good :-)

Hi Paul

Thanks !

Sadly the same issue of the magazine brings the sad news that one of the original finders, Miguel Soto, has been murdered.

Maybe the next great clone of this litle gem could be named in his honour ??
