I have one plant that will not let me insert a photo or a movie in my dbase.
No matter what. I can insert the movie/photo into another plant's entry. I can insert the plant info into a new file. I cannot, it simply will not let me, insert anything w/ this file, included as a quicktime file. There are two files, neither will insert. I've resized, renamed a bazillion times. Deleted and re-inserted. No go. All the file names look to be fine, and size is small.

Can anyone help? It is making me just *slightly* crazy. (*edit* REALLY CRAZY!) The only plant I've had an issue with! I'm getting ready to sell the plant, just to make things neat and clean!

GRRR!!!

It sounds like you have a corruption in either the database file or the image file. In the database, have you tried deleting that particular entry and re-creating it? If in the image file, try creating a new blank image with the same pixel resolution and dimensions, the select the image in the corrupt file, copy and paste it into the new file window, then save it with a new name. I've done this with Word documents and Photoshop images on my Mac, and it seems to solve the corruption problem.

That's what I'm thinking too, Dot.
I've tried inserting the file into other entries, as well as deleting and recreating the entry to no avail. The quicktime files run fine on the desktop, but when I try to insert them into Filemaker, it reads 'cannot find file'.

Not sure how to create a blank image, sorry to be a pest, I'd like to try that. Thanks!

I finally tried making new films (for the umpteenth time) for each and saving them outside the file for that plant.
In my "Movies" file, I have all the images and animations organized into Paphs, Phrags, Mex. and within each of those a file for each species/hybrid. I saved these just into the movie file, not into their specific plant file, and inserted them into filemaker without a hitch. Go figure!

The important thing: looks like you solved the problem. Maybe it's a characteristic of Filemaker. I'm sure you've found these support sites:
