Good evening all,

For a few years now I have bought pretty much all of my Paph flasks from Paphanatics and Orchid Inn- plus a few from Chuck Acker.

Paphantics' complex breeding aiming for blush tones with spots has quite captivated my imagination and I will be receiving some neat flasks soon.

My question is, who else is doing working in this direction in a promising way? As I build my stock for future breeding, I want to be sure I am sourcing plants from a variety of lines and directions in addition to my firm loyalty to the vendors I most favor.

There are so many Paph sites out there now, I just figured it might help to ask who else you think is really doing some exciting breeding in this direction.

I did find the Marriott site, and I was quite impressed. Beyond that, I have no idea where else to look to see about getting some flasks along these lines.

Thanks for any thoughts!

Marriot was the first source I thought of. Orchid Zone has crosses along that line, also. You also might try checking with Paul Philiips at Ratcliffe Orchids in Kissimee, FL. Ratcliffe has a reputation for excellent complex Paphs.

I just sent to the flasker a remake of Paph Lunacy (Hellas x Skip Bartlett 'White Pepper'), using the 'Sunset' clone of Hellas. Seed viability was listed as good to excellent. I've also got a few other possibilities in pod.

I just got back from Winsome Orchids, which still has a lot of seedlings from Wharton Sinkler's breeding program. You can check out what they have at http://www.billysbuds.com/ . Wharton had a lot of crosses using Skip Bartlett.

Thanks! I appreciate it. Will give these two a look.

Heard back from Marriott today too- sound like great folks.

Not that I need any more plants, but what the heck :D

Dear elpaninaro
I read your cry for help with great interest'
As this is my first posting on the Forum I must be careful what I say and how I say it'

Have you never heard of Ratcliffe's??

We have been in the complex market for over 75 years.
True we have changed course a little over those years but we have made some wonderful pink crosses during that time.
We are again doing so and would love to tell you about in more detail sometime
I look forward very much in being part of this group and send greetings to all

Welcome, Paul. I look forward to reading your comments in the forum. Do you plan on having another slipper symposium this fall?

Howdy Ross, Where was that symposium at? When was it held etc... I might have to make a road trip.

I believe the one last year was held in Kissimee, Florida in November and was hosted by Paul and Mary Phillips of Ratcliffe Orchids.
