Hi All .
Been awhile since I posted - rasing ones grandchildren life get a bit compleleted sometimes but I have some real news with my Phrags I'd like to share my phrag exstaminodiums(3) are in spike
 In 1999 I bought a flask of "wallisii" when I flowered the first seedling 2 yrs ago it ended up being exstaminodium It only had one flower but huge long petals 33" I'd never seen anything like it . it was so great just watching it grow day by day . now this same plant has 3 buds two big ones and 1 little one .I gave 4 plants to other phrag lovers thinking it was wallisii one other flowered last year we try seeding but failed this time time now hopefully we know a lillte more of it .and I hope to get some seed .
two of the other seedlings has 2 spikes . I'll keep you all posted .

Are you sure you don't mean Phrag lindenii? Exstaminodium would have a pouch but no staminode, whereas lindenii would have a third petal instead of a pouch. I'd be very interested if you were sold morphologically 'true' exstaminodium as wallisii!
