View Full Version : Phrag Grande Paphraguy March 26th, 2005, 08:05 PM This multifloral hybrid is a fast grower and gets quite large very quickly. http://mysite.verizon.net/vze6o1l1/gra.jpg Paphgirl March 26th, 2005, 08:07 PM Damn fine photo! Geesh...wish mine came out so well. My Grande is growing well...:) thanks!!! Jon in SW Ohio March 26th, 2005, 10:23 PM Very nice Grande! Do you have any pics to show how long the petals get? Apparently both of mine are now Wossner Supergrandes...I hope they bloom soon. I love the caudatum/warscewiczianum dominant Grandes, my 'Jody Rae' seems to be more longifolium dominant, but my 'Joe Miller Cox' is very warscewiczianum dominant luckily. Great photo, thanks for sharing. Jon Paphraguy March 26th, 2005, 10:42 PM Thanks Heather and Jon! Jon, if you scroll down, you'll see another pic of my Grande that I had posted a few days ago. My Grande has very large flowers with big pouches and I think the longest petals were around 14" long. I also like the caudatum dominant Grande. I have seen many different kinds of Grandes but this is the one I'm still very impressed with. So, I just had to have one for my collection. :) Park Bear March 28th, 2005, 08:22 AM I like, I have a few seedlings of Grande and I'm real glad to see that they grow quickly :-dance: Wendy April 9th, 2005, 09:30 PM Absolutey gorgeous! wolfcreekmn April 10th, 2005, 01:21 PM Very nice Peter, need more of those long petals plants  Eric Paphraguy April 26th, 2005, 08:19 AM My Grande is in spike again! Paphgirl April 26th, 2005, 08:20 AM Congratulations Peter!!! :joy: Park Bear April 26th, 2005, 09:29 AM great news :clap2: , but mine are too small, maybe in a couple of years  Paphraguy May 15th, 2005, 08:47 AM This plant is in spike again and ready to bloom soon! :-dance:  :joy: Park Bear May 16th, 2005, 10:23 AM spikes one month apart, man that is very nice :clap2: Wendy May 16th, 2005, 06:38 PM ....drool.............. :clap2: Paphgirl May 16th, 2005, 07:13 PM I think my div. of this from you, Pete, may also be in sheath...stay tuned!! Excellent! :-dance: Paphraguy June 7th, 2005, 02:20 PM This plant is in bloom again with 2 open flowers and 2 buds. The flowers are as usual large and the petals are still growing, currently the petals are 10 inches long and will reach to around 15 inches or so. This plant is a vigorous very fast growing Grande and never seems to stop growing, even when it was divided last year while in spike! http://mysite.verizon.net/vze6o1l1/g.jpg Paphgirl June 7th, 2005, 02:33 PM Gorgeous! Thanks for posting Peter, I like it very much! Oh, and that division of mine is doing just GREAT! I think it should be ready to spike any time now. :D TADD June 7th, 2005, 04:38 PM I think my favorite of all th phrag hybrids is either Grande or Mediation. Nice photo again Pete! Gideon June 7th, 2005, 04:57 PM I really like this one, are they easy to take care of or do they need special care? Paphraguy June 7th, 2005, 05:15 PM Thanks for the nice comments! Gideon, Grande is a very easy growing hybrid and the one I have is the golden multifloral variety and very fast growing. They do get very large with very tall spikes and the flowers are gigantic! Paphraguy June 11th, 2005, 08:40 AM Here is another shot of the flowers outdoors. http://mysite.verizon.net/vze6o1l1/gra1.jpg The flowers are huge and they turn more golden as they age. Thanks for looking! :D Paphgirl June 11th, 2005, 09:53 AM Lovely - what's that bush in back of it? Just curious! Paphraguy June 11th, 2005, 09:57 AM Thanks! That is not a bush, it is a huge Dendrobium spectablis. Paphgirl June 11th, 2005, 10:01 AM Thanks! That is not a bush, it is a huge Dendrobium spectablis. Hehehe!
