Hi,

I have been propagating Cypripediums for awhile now (see the Cypripedium Gallery for example) as well as several other temperate terrestrial genera. This year I have obtained pods from several other genera to explore flasking of tropicals. I have received Cattleya (3 species), Phalaenopsis (2 hybrids), and Epidendrum (1 species). For each of these, the seed germinated well and I have nice little green seedlings in flasks (a new thing for me - I am used to the white seedlings of flasked terrestrials grown in the dark). I am accumulating a number of Phragmipedium and Paphiopedilum species but the collection is too new to have resulted in pods - maybe this season I will get some pollenation done. I am very interested in trying my hand at Phragmipedium and Paphiopedilum. If anyone has pods of appropriate age, I would appreciate receipt - I will flask them and will return all seedlings except perhaps a half dozen or so - to the breeder. I would be pleased to instead trade Cypripedium seedlings if you would prefer.

If anyone is game send me a private message.

Thanks!

Ron Burch

I would like to thank everyone who offered to help with my education with these genera by donating seed! Hopefully there will be many seedlings to return to you. The first seed have been sown and I think I am seeing evidence of germination - in a couple of weeks I shoud be certain. I will post progress.
