I've heard a couple of complaints today, aside from the fact that photobucket was down twice that I noticed today.
Please post here if you are having trouble.

Tadd and Lien, you've been accounted for. Is it all photos on the site or just certain ones?

Anyone else?

I can check mozilla and exploiter tomorrow from work.
Have you checked through your Mac? Probably not, but I'd be curious to know if you have issues w/ Safari as well.
Lien, this just started today, right?

At any rate, wondering if anyone else is having trouble??

I don't seem to have any problem viewing photos using IE, Mozilla and Firefox.

Stan's had trouble for two days on Mozilla.
TADD - what browser are you using?

Paphraguy

I had even tried Opera and it worked.

Yes, well, clearly the vast majority of us aren't having trouble, but some still are, so I'm just wondering why and trying to help.

Paphraguy

Did you report the problem to Photobucket and see what they have to say?

Paphgirl
October 6th, 2005, 07:59 AM
From what I understand, it is all photos, not just one's hosted by photobucket. Photobucket is up, that's not the problem.

Well, it is a mystery to me. It could just be some servers having some kind of problem, I don't know. Some servers at businesses/institutions turn off viewing pictures and even some sites.

Roadrunner is a service provider and ie is an internet browser. i.e. roadrunner provides the connection and ie provides the interface for webviewing.

i also have roadrunner.

i think it's a browser specific problem, as it seems to work fine for me on aol's browser, but not firefox or ie.

i don't know if, and don't think it's related, but two days ago, i installed the shockwave add-on and noticed this problem soon after. i don't see why that would be related, but possibly? quite annoying though.

this is the only site i've had that problem with though. i've not had problems with any other forum. so i don't quite understand.

 That is really strange because AOL browser is the WORST of the bunch and most forum softwares are not even compatible with AOL browsers. Make sure that graphics are not turned off in the browsers. I also have Shockwave installed with no problem. Also, try refreshing your cookies and see if that helps! You may also contact Roadrunner or go to their website and read their FAQ and see if they have any tips listed.

Tadd you were home when you were experiencing it yes? I know at work you are blocked anyway. I think Stan was also at home, he mentioned to me it's been the past two days also. I wonder why, you three, all the sudden, having the same problem. Couple of common variables, L & S in NY, L & T using Roadrunner. Wonder if Stan uses Roadrunner as well?

Yes I can not see them at home. I definitely can't see them at work. I use yahoo at home is that a server? Sorry computers are so quantum physics to me. I am DUM! :poke: (Yes that is mispelled on purpose)

I just cleared my cache and cookies and problem's still there. it's very odd, because i went to other forums that are similarly structured and they all seem to work. At least i think they are similarly structured, one example is peter's site: http://www.bigleaforchids.com/phpBB2/index.php

and i agree, i hate aol's browser, i never use it but thought i'd give it a try to see what happens.

i'll try on my mac.

ok, on my mac now (using safari) and still the same problem!

all the graphics on the site show up, including everyone's icons (forget what the term is for those)

it's just the linked photos in the messages that do not show up. there isn't even a red x box or image placeholder, just blank.

but at least now i know it's not a problem with my desktop!

Darn, I was hoping it would work on the mac and I could gloat. :poke:
Just kidding!
I would check with Roadrunner then, it doesn't really sound like a browser issue to me.
So weird!

it IS weird! I could understand it more if it didn't work at all, but the fact that it works with aol's browser makes it all the more confusing! by the way, i'm ordering a new desktop...mac or pc..hrmmmm

Oh oh oh! (You know you shouldn't say things like that around me!)
Did you (or mom?) get the Sept. issue of Macworld? It reviews all of the new macs. So, let me know, cause if you don't have it, I'm sending it to you. :poke:

(I am good at enabling w/ regards to things other than plants too!)

I'm pretty sure Stan also has Roadrunner service. I would definitely shoot an email to Roadrunner support.

I also have been having problems with pictues not downloading. This started yesterday and continues today. I thought it was my home computer but today it is also happening at work. Both computers are on TimeWarner cable. It shows that the pic is trying to download but it takes many minutes and then I end up with the boxed little red X

Ron, you're also with Road Runner and I also noticed all three of you are in NY. Email TimeWarner/Road Runner for help and see what they have to say.

Just sent roadrunner an e-mail, let's see what they say!

It does seem roadrunner specific, because I disconnected my computer from roadrunner and signed on via aol-dialup and it works

j/k
I can email photos to anyone who wants, just let me know.
I think something must have changed with your service provider. Hopefully it is a glitch, and Lien will hear back from them. I think you all should complain though, the more complaints, the more it becomes an issue to them also. Give 'em hell!

I just read somewhere that two of the high level ISP providers (level three?) are having a bit of a tiff right now, and are blocking cross traffic. Since it is at a very high level in the net, you'll see a wide range of websites go down (or not go down, depending on your 'net geography').

Time Warner/Road Runner is having major problem. Check this forum (http://www.dslreports.com/forum/cable,rr) out!

Here is another LINK (http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,14508037). This is from the same forum I just posted above. Not good news for those with Road Runners! There many not so happy customers.

Explains why photobucket was "down" yesterday as well.
Well, I guess we got to the bottom of that!
Hopefully it will be resolved in a timely fashion.

Sounds like we know where the problems are now, but last week when I had problems with my Henryanum pictures it turned out to be that I used a # symbol in the picture address. For some reason only certain browsers could cope with that.
