Hello all, after reading Koopowitz's 1990 article in Orchid Digest, I am now curious as to the fate of P. lowii fma. aureum. Does anyone know if the original plant found on Mt. Kinabalu is still there? And has the form come into cultivation in Asia yet? If so, where did the original plants/seed come from? It seems borderline moronic to have taken one of the two aureum plants that were discovered and turned it into an herbarium specimum...

I would love to add that species to my collection! I heard it was already available in Europe, how true? I don't know.

I have heard that it is available in USA now and that it was propagated artificially there.
In the next issue of The Orchid Digest you will find a picture of this clone.
Best greetings

Orchid Inn and Nascent Orchids have new lowii color forms.
Orchid Inn will have the white green variety or the yellow variety.
Nascent should have the yellow variety, vinicolor, and possibly a new brown variety.
