Well, I'm getting antsy waiting for these two to spike since the plants are much larger since this last blooming. So I thought I would share these photos of them blooming last summer. Enjoy.

Beautiful! How big are your kolosands?

Gorgeous! I particularly like the second one. I love the delicate colors of this hybrid. Thank you for sharing them with us!

When they bloomed in the pics, they had two growths each...about two feet wide x 2.5" leaves...first bloomed seedlings.
Now they have 4-5 growths each, are about two and a half to three feet wide and leaves are up to 4" wide.
I can't wait for them to bloom because most kolo hybrids produce more flowers per spike as they get older...and I'm hoping for over 6 flowers, but who knows.
I prefer the plant in the second photo because it doesn't get the spots on the pouches from the humidity like the first one is more prone to do. But, in person, the first one is more vividly colored...but has a skinnier flower. Unfortunately, they both got the bad trait of short flower stems from sanderianum...but I still enjoy them enough to make room for them(and that says a lot). Can't wait to show off pics of them this summer...stay tuned.

Ah-ha! I should have asked outright about the spots - that's what I didn't like as much in the first clone. Thanks for the explanation. At least two of us are lamenting how large they are, as they are simply gorgeous, but neither of us have the room for them.

Cry!

Can't wait to see this year's blooming! Will stay tuned!!

Those are cool. Not only are the petals long, but they are wide. I hope this year does get you the extra blooms.

Hi John just looking through these older posts. Great plants Curious did they bloom for you yet this summer or do you think they are getting close. I bought a large one about four months ago but only a single growth . I was hoping for a spike soon Thanks Ray

I will see if I can't find another pic of it, still no sign of a spike at all...maybe it's waiting for the Mid America this fall, I hope.

EDIT: here's the only two other photos I have of the first one. Enjoy

Both are lovely. I hope you get spectacular blooms this year. I love the "big guys," but have to consider my limited growing space!!
