Paph. bougainvilleanum( same for two years).
First is BS size, but surprisingly small(about 12 cm across), paph. is small, abuot 8 cm across.
orchidlover October 12th, 2009, 11:17 AM How exciting!:hyper: Pictures please!
Justin October 12th, 2009, 11:24 AM congrats...are you going to pot the mexipedium artistically... in a shallow ceramic pot as some do?

I pot it into a shallow plastic pot into the mix of perlite, seramis, bark and coco-fiber.
Pictures later, now I1m not at home.
Some says that mexi likes drier conditions and should be careful about watering.
Paphy57 October 12th, 2009, 09:55 PM Nice purchases. I am waiting for my mexi to bloom before I repot.

Yes, but only in winter when the temps are cooler (assuming they are for you). When it is warm and in active growth, be sure to keep it nice and moist or it won't grow barely at all. I learned that the hard way with mine the first couple years.

Thanks for advice. I water mine paph only once a week in winter. There is a fogger in my green house an keeps the humidity around always 70%(+/- 10%). Temperature is between 19-24 Celsius, depending on heater activity(begins to work at 19 and stops at 24).
