Hello Tadd, I know you have a few of these at the nursery Bulbo. Echinolabium I'm almost positive that this is a flower spike but could you verifiy that for me . untill today I thought I had a new growth going but it got longer over the last few days why I think I have a spike. This is the one Tom was with me when I asked me wife to take a whiff she dosen't let me forget it and now we will have one of our own. Please lick on Photo to enlarge Thanks Ray

Ray I do believe that you have a SPIKE!! Nice size plant!!

Yeah it will spike from that "New growth" and make sure to take a nice deep whiff of it! I always check my shoes for dog poopwhen one of these in blooming, then I look around and find one of these open. We have a Jersey right now in a 5" bulb pan with 6 flowers. it is incredible looking, and very little bad smell. Do you have a Jersey? You should get one!

Hi Heather, My wife dosen't think it so funny the way it happened was we were walking through the greenhouses with Tom Nasser of Carolina Orchids Tom in front me them my wife Rita. she wasn 't paying attention to Tom and myself as we were talking orchids and she was along just for me. so Tom thought he would get me and handed me one in bloom and said here take a smell of this. so I knew it would stink but I took a whiff and didn't say anything but turned and said to my wife here hon take I whiff of this one and she took a big inhale and started coughing needless to say she wanted to kill me so now when I tell her we have one in spike she is less than joyful and reminds me of my nasty deed. iT was done so quickly I hadn't really thought about it.I must say she supports me 100 percent with this hobbie of mine I can't drive and she hauls me all over the place for Orchids and meetings and shows. I am lucky
