(Tadd - please don't go there, I am not in the mood... ) :?

So, I definitely have a sheath on my St. Swithin.
Can someone who has bloomed one tell me what it should look like? Mine is green, with a darker purple rim. Does this sound "normal"? In my experience, completely purple sheaths have not been viable. Green, maybe w/ a slight purple tinge, have been viable. What should I be thinking about this one?

(It is too young to photograph, sorry!)

Thanks for the encouragement. It has been MOST slow to get to this point. I am not convinced.

TADD - have you been breathing on my plants in the middle of the night w/out my knowledge? I can waste you, you know. :poke:

Okay, so I think we should have a forum pool.
H blooms plant - post your bets? Put your money where your mouth is. I don't really know how it would work, but maybe pledge a dollar per bud? How many will it have? Or will it have any at all?

Or maybe, send a plant to Heather as your pledge....:poke:

Hmm.....personally, I'm not betting until I see more progress.

*PS - I am *mostly* kidding...though it would be funny - even to have an informal pledge.
If we were to do this, I think it would have to be something like - x% of the proceeds go to forum maintenance, the rest to the winner - for the plant purchase of their choice.

WOW! Looks good. :D

Heather, I still cannot get over how healthy, green, and *well* perfect, the leaves on your plants look. Most of mine have some sort of burn or break or something or other wrong with them.

Good growing!!!

LOL, when I compared the pics in this thread I realized it doesn't look like it has grown at all, but it actually has.

Susan, they don't all look like the St. Swithin, in fact I'm a little discouraged today, because some of my plants I think either are suffering from too low a pH or that nutrient deficiency. That's *got* to be what is going on w/ not only my sanderianum, but my 4N stonei, and I think a few others perhaps. They've been treated with oyster shell today, I hope that will help.

Oh, and the St. I burnt the heck out of a leaf last year. Thanks for the compliment though. :)
