I recently acquired a rather beat up single growth paph anitum. (I strongly suspect jungle collected :() However a new growth is already in the works with this one when I got it.

I know culture is similar to Paph philippinense but are they considered slow growers? How long do I wait for this thing to bloom? I have successfully rebloomed my philippinses after 12 growths and a little more than 3 years...

Since it is a multifloral, I would guess a slow grower like its cousins. Do you have a pic of your anitum? Please post if you can, I would love to see it. Thanks!

It's not really a slow grower, it just have a trouble with nutrients like Nickel, Iron and Manganese. This plant saturates itself with this elements and can die if concentration is too strong.

edit : you have to give it a poor water (200-250 ppm) with neutral pH

Thanks for your replies. I might take a picture of it when Im not too busy this weekend. Then I would ask some more details as to growing it here. Right now the new shoot has grown to more than an inch in the 5 days I have had it. Pretty neat.

Where did you get it? Because I was under the distinct impression that it was illegal. Or it was when we judged a particularly awesome one quite some time ago (10 years, maybe?).

Anyway, if it is really Paph. anitum, you have a spectacular paph. And I want one too...
