View Full Version : NOID - Please help identify Orchids3 September 5th, 2005, 10:31 AM This is a NOID in my greenhouse - does anyone know what it is? http://community.webshots.com/photo/442665934GmqMXj Thank you, Paphraguy September 5th, 2005, 10:53 AM I don't know what it is but it is definitely a Paph armeniacum hybrid. Olaf September 5th, 2005, 10:57 AM It is really a hybrid of Paph. armeniacum. Perhaps it is a cross with Paph. primulinum, but I cannot see the inflorescence, if there are more buds and how big the flower is Best greetings Olaf Orchids3 September 5th, 2005, 12:58 PM Olaf and Pete thanks for working on this one. There is a 2nd bud. The flower measures 4 1/2 inches (10.5 cm) across and 3 3/8 inches high (8.5 cm hight) The foliage is mottled. Leaves are about 5" (12.75 cm) This is the first time the plant has bloomed and the infloresence is on the first growth, New growth might be larger will wait and see. I could photograph and post additional pictures. TADD September 5th, 2005, 01:23 PM I would say primulinum x malipoense. Orchids3 September 5th, 2005, 02:31 PM If its primulinum x malipoense it would be a Paph Golddollar according to the 'Wildcat Program'. Wildcat also indicates that it was awarded an 81 point AM/AOS 2/7/1997 at Southern Pines North Carolina. John Martin was the exhibibitor. I dont have the AOS Awards Quarterlys. The first record of an award was to Paphanetics as an exhibitor - Golddollar got a Bronze award from the CSA 11/27/1990. Thanks for helping - at least I know what it might be. Will pass this on to an AOS Judge and see if he has the AOS Quarterly on file. Thanks Jon in SW Ohio September 5th, 2005, 02:34 PM I would have to agree with Paph. Envy Green (primulinum x malipoense). Here are photos of my Envy Green and Golddollar(primulinum x armeniacum) for comparison. Paph.
