Last week I visited a friend in the northern part of Germany and found in his greenhouse a wonderful plant of Mexipedium xerophyticum, The plant is now some years in his greenhouse in culture and brings more then 20 new growths per year. It started now to climb out of the pot which is around 80 cm in diameter.

A fantastic specimen! I've heard that some in Mexico have grown the plant in hanging media just like a Stanhopea.

It is a well grown plant. What I don'r understand is why they are so expensive because they seem to multiply pretty readily from what I can tell from friends that have them. once they get going . I like the way this plant is growing looks like a display in itself. Ray
