Thanks! I'll post another pic when the buds are in bloom. Here is a link to a picture of the same plant in bloom a year or so ago. http://www.slipperorchidforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=50

pete,

That is fantastic. It is just as I imagined. I love the purple pouch and the white/pink petals.

Here is an updated photo of the spikes. One spike is branching with 2 branched spikes from the sides. Not a great photo since all my plants are now indoors under HPS. Thanks for looking!

Thanks, Mang! I was wondering if Phrags are available in nurseries in India. Do people grow Phrags in India? Just curious.

Peter: Finding nurseries selling Paphs is a mighty big problem, Phrags? You might as well forget it especially if you are located in the North East.

Sorry to hear that, Mang! And I thought I was very unlucky to not find any kov available here yet. Can you import Phrags on your own?

Mang

Yes it's possible provided you are loaded and know the ropes.

I think the flower is slightly larger than last year's also. I love how elegant and delicate it looks.

I forgot to mention the flower is slightly fragrant. :D

It's beautiful Peter. I have a tiny seedling. I may have to wait forever for it to bloom.

I wonder what it would be like to have a plant with 20 growths. I sure would like to have a large one in my collection some day. I feel lucky to have 4 or 5 growths. If I want one that large I suppose I will have to buy it that large to begin with. Maybe some day I will find a large one.

Thanks for the nice comments, Grandma! Mine grew very quickly, doubled in size in just one year. If you don't have the patience, then definitely get a larger multigrowth plant.

One of my favorite non-red phrags. Everyone should have one.

When you get to be my age is isn't only patience......It's time also. I'm not buying orchids for my grandchildren to enjoy. I buy them for myself. If they enjoy them later thats great but I buy for myself now. Is that being selfish? If it is I will go on being selfish because I want to appreciate the blooms myself.

I love my blooms even tho I do enjoy growing the plants.

I hear and am with you! But then none of us know when we'll see our orchids for the last time. So a new quote: Life is short, enjoy orchids!

I love your quote. I think I will print it out and hang it on my wall. I'll print some photos of my Porters orchid blooms along with it. I have several beautiful catts in bloom, which I bought from you, sitting on my living room floor now.

Time for another trip to Porters again also.
