I haven't ran out of room yet, but think will a little planning we can accomplish that by spring. And since we are planning I will be building a grow room in the basement. There are some really impressive rooms on this list. Can anyone share some advise and there experiences? Molly that Lady Isabel is incredible. Have you always grown under HPS and MH?
I was planning a 8' x 12' room with 2 lamps to start and maybe 2 others down the line. One HPS and One MH to start covering about 8' x 8'. I am a bit concerned about moisture. The plan is to create a room out of 2x4's lined in housing plastic and 1/2 inch insulation. The question is would it be better to have a air trap between the plastic and foam or to keep both on the inside of the studs. I would hate to have a dew point problem between the 2x4's feeding moisture and mold to the house. The benches should run off directly into the pvc drain that is about 2 feet of the ground. What are people putting on the ground. I was thinking about putting plastic on the floor as well to keep any run off from, running off. Would some stone help?
Also I see that some people use misters. Are they for watering from above or for a fine mist for humidity. I was thinking about having 2 filtered air intakes at one end and then a wet membrane to increase humidity with out getting too much water in the crowns of the plants. Thoughts?
Come spring- you can be sure I will be polling if people change the day length of there lights. Until then I will try to post some in progress photos. Thanks in Advanced!
