Hi all

It's almost the official first day of Spring here and the shows are on - today (this weekend) there were three in my general area. I could only make it to two - plant turnout at these shows was so - so, but nice for all that. I have a few photos to process of a number of plants I haven't had the chance to see before. Plant sales at the two do's I attended were excellent - so having little control and area to put them in I still bought some plants.

Uhm - here's the list (I don't know why I'm feeling guilty but I am);

Phrag Calurum (already have one but this one was bigger and healthier)
Phrag Tall Tails

Paphs

P villosum
P. venustum X purpuratum (in flower)
P. Vanda M Pearman 'No. 2'
P. Jerry Boote
P. fairieanum X malipoense (in flower)
P Madame Martinet
P Iona (in flower)
P. Delrosi
P Millmanii
P Madiotianum (in flower)
P sukhakulii X lowii
P. Red Glory X henryanum

Surprisingly after putting these away I still have room - seedlings to grow as well - but I've got room (or is that doom :) )

There's a coke can for scale hidden in amongst those plants - I love shows where I can get fully grown plants for the same price as the seedlings I buy in nurseries.

I think I need help - is there any out there? :D

Oh yes, most definitely - let's see, it is just Saturday evening there, so, you have time enough to make it to the third show on Sunday, yes?

I love to help! :D

(NICE HAUL!!)

nice plants Stephan and I agree with Heather, make it to the 3rd show !

would you mind posting a picture of the flower of fairrianum x malipoense ? I think this is the last one on the top left in your general picture but due to the long "malipoense style spike", the flower is obviously out of your picture....

I may just make it to the third show for sure. But all the nice plants will be sold so I'll just be giving myself more photos to process :)

Mal, it's a bit rushed but here's the shot of the fair/malipoense cross I bought. Flower is almost finished so it's quite faded and there's no scent I can detect. You're right about the spike it's tall, though not as tall as the malipoense spikes I saw at Robertsons Orchids (they were probably 2 plus feet)

thanks Stephan ! it seems that this cross took more from Malipoense than it did from fairianum..; besides the wavy petals maybe..

Nice Haul, Stephan!!!!

You got some really large plants. I really like the one that is blooming in the front. What is that one? It looks like it has spicerianum and insigne in it. Love the shape of the bloom & the colors! Beautiful!!!
