couscous74 August 24th, 2005, 10:38 AM Very nice
nyorchids August 24th, 2005, 10:41 AM all very nice i love the phal. cornu
malipoense August 24th, 2005, 12:58 PM very nice Pichit, I especially like the well colored cornu cervii.
the second one is probably a Brassocattleya....makes me think of binosa except that the lip is not exactly the same shape...
Gideon August 24th, 2005, 01:02 PM Very nice
malipoense August 25th, 2005, 01:57 AM upon looking at your pictures again Pichit I actually think the 2nd is more likely a brassavola hybrid (nodosa x something)... the leaves are quite typical from brassavolas....
Jon in SW Ohio August 25th, 2005, 02:49 AM The top one looks like one of the Oncidium species they moved to the genus Lophiaris. I have lanceanum and it is very similar, but I can't remember the other members of the genus so do a google and you should find it.

Picsri August 25th, 2005, 09:36 AM dear all, thanks a lot for all the comments..
for the first one, If I remember right, it is the hybrid.. but don't know yet what exactly the name..
for the 2nd one, definitely there is the Epi stamfordianum as one of the parent and cross with one of the brassia.. But I have no idea what it is. as the owner that I bought it from , just only know one of them..
Thanks a lot for your help.
Picsri.
TADD August 25th, 2005, 10:09 AM Wow nice looking flowers!
RickL August 25th, 2005, 10:55 PM Are those about 1" diameter flowers on the first one and smell like chocolate?
Allot of the oncidium types are very pretty, but they all look the same to me. Sherry Baby is very popular oncidia hybrid and fairly diverse in color.
Jon in SW Ohio August 26th, 2005, 04:01 AM Do you have a pic of the plant of the first one? If not, does it resemble the leaves of a Psychopsis and have reddish markings?
Except for the color of the lip, I would say it is Lophiaris(Oncidium) lanceanum....google Oncidium lanceanum and see what you think. I don't know how variable this species is, and I don't know many hyrids with it(only what google showed).

Picsri August 26th, 2005, 05:49 AM dear All, Finally I think I know the parent of the first one already. Thanks for the Tip of Jon..
Indeed, this one has the onc lanceanum as part of the breeding..
The family are as follow :
Trichocentrum Maureen x Trichocentrum Haematochilum ( or infact could be also call Oncidium as it is exaclty the same)..
Trichocentrum Maureen = Trichocentrum carthagenense x lanceanum
Trichocentrum Haematochilum = Trichocentrum lanceanum x luridum
I also went back to check with the supplier and get some name like Maureen x Haematochilum .. :D
Mahon September 17th, 2005, 03:27 PM The Brassovola cross is most likely Brassocattleya Hippodamia... I bought mine about 4 years ago, and it looked VERY close to that. Most of the ones in bloom differed greatly from each other... mine had a wider labellum... and the leaves are not all that pencil shaped... the plant Hippodamia is rather short, and grows more upright...
Sound like yours?
