Check out the size of the paphs at this website. I still can't believe how big that Magic Lantern is. I assume these plants are for sale. They are probabily out of my price range though. I'd love to see them in full flower.

Whoa! Those are definitely big guys. I would be very tempted, but it looks like the site is not in the USA, which is very, very, good for me. I don't think I would be allowed to import them. (whew!!)

Thanks for posting, (and for saving me from myself)

WOW!!!!

It is a beautiful plant. They all are. Do you know the name of the one which is pink, and the top picture on the HOME page? I would die for a display like that in my growing area.

I love Gloria Naugle and that pic makes me drool. Mine bloomed this year and almost brought tears in my eyes. It was the first bloom for me on that plant and it was even more beautiful than I expected.

Heather. How can you not like Gloria Naugle?

I have been on this site before and they have some interesting things going on. They show plants fronthe beginning stages to somthing like you just posted. I wish I understood the language. They call the plants wheel I assume it's how many fans thier are on the plant. Interesting site. I will never be able to grow anything like that at my present set up. I can't say as I ever have seen plants grown like that at any of the shows either. When you look at the plants entered in the Japan Grand Prix of Orchids They alll look much larger than us grown plants . I could be wrong just my opnion. Ray

They simply get the better plants in Japan from the exporters, that's all. I have 5 plants of rothschildianum Val x Mt Millais, bought in 1996. All originated from a famous nursery. The "Japanese for the Japan market" is a strong multigrowth plant, with very good flowers. The one sold to England has actually very poor flowers, and is stilla single growth and a start plant.

If you look at the pictures of the hangianums I posted, the flask was US$300 for 15 seedlings. They grow very fast, and are very large plants. Do not hope to get similar plants even with 20 years of growth if you do not start with the right plants. Plant size is scarcely a matter of age, usually when the plant has flowered once or twice, and is well grown, you have close to the maximum size of that peculiar plant.
