Is this show as good as some say?? As much as I'd hate to climb onto one, our Local Society has a bus going up there (I'm too tall for long bus rides!). I'd consider going if it's worth it. I'm assuming it's a lot better for Orchid people than the Philly Flower show which I went to last year and won't go again (would if it was close to me though...).

I've been thinking about it but doubtful. I'd like to go, just far and a bad time of year at work for me to get away.

This is the show of shows in the US and 100s of vendors - I've been to them all over but this is the one to never miss! If you are going with the intention of buying something you want, go Thur or Fri as the 250,000 people who beat you there will get the good stuff overwise. Sat and especially Sun there are 10s of thousands of people in the afternoon so expect long lines. Get there when it opens on Sun morning and you will have an easy time looking at the exhibits - 1000s upon 1000s of plants. It was better in the Winter Garden but it is still great in the Rock Center.

Big, east coast show like this? Huh? I want reports! I want to be jealous! There must be more of you people out there going. I know Ron in NY is going....

Maybe I should go myself....I'll know more next week if it is even possible, but I doubt it. Highly. So I am relying on the rest of you out there!

I am afraid that I am coming back from the show much poorer. I must have purchased 30 or more plants. There were vendors from Peru, Columbia, Equador, Thialand and Andy's was there too. I think I dropped oer 150 at Andy's alone!!

I hate to say but I didn't buy one slipper. (I willed be paid for my time working for Glen in new chids. He will be going on his European buying trip with my list in hand, plus I am hoping to be one of the first on the block with a legal kovachii) But my Maxillaria collection just grew!!! I found the new Chiloschista sp that hasn't beend named yet. I replaced my C. peckhaviensis :Party: I found a great new Bulbo. I even bought my first Sobralia.

I did take pics and will post them later in the week. (I haven't found out how to post pics to this forum, HELP!! needed).

Thanks for the updates Ron, glad you had a good time, and it sounds like you got some neat plants!
