Hey all

I'm running out of space and money but am REAL proud of my latest purchases. So I thought I'd share them with you;

Flowering size

Phrag Sorcerer's Apprentice
Phrag Green Hornet

Seedlings
Phrag Fred Wright
Phrag Grouville
Phrag Carrefour Sealous
Phrag schlimii

Vasco Pine Rivers 'Blue" - couldn't help myself

Paph Asteroid X Starchild
James Bacon 'GB' X Asteroid 'Orbit'
P.O.Y. 'Golden' X phillipinense 'OZ' (3 plant compot0
liemianum (2 plant pot)
Asteroid 'Orbit" X Sierra Lace 'Lemonade'
Flame Arrow X Maudiae
Flame Arrow 'Sceptre' X Night Arrow 'Obsidian'
(Onyx X Mystic Jewel) X Lunar Moth 'Wide Petals'
malipoense 'Mint' X 'Jade Giant' (saw flowering plants - they're HUGE)
wenshanense X Fanaticum
leuchochilum 'Bloodshot' X (Virgo X bellatulum) 'Red Monster)

The Paphs came from Robertsons, which is a nursery about 100 kilometeres (80 miles) away from me. He had a plant there which "spoke" to me which I couldn't justify buying just yet. I have to know though - has anyone seen or got a photo of sandrianum X malipoense ?

John Robertson has at least one two growth plant that looks absolutely gorgeous. More importantly, he's also willing to sell it :D

Cheers

Gideon - Oz dollars mate - and it was closer to $380 but I rounded up considering the fuel costs as well :)

Tim - John was busily trying to get ready for his trip when I got there. He was way distracted and when I asked him about the malipoense/sandrianum cross he just baldly said the price I was half expecting without any prevarication. I started driving at 8 this morning and got home just after 3 and had an absolute ball.

Half of my purchases were on the plastic fantastic because there's also another O.S. show at Mt Cootha this weekend and I have no idea what I may discover there as well. In 2 to 5 years, all things being equal, I'm going to be drowning in paph flowers.

Tim, I have a few doubles, so when they're established perhaps we can talk trades?

Cheers

What ???

You'd take this hairy backed, knuckle dragging Aussie along to a Shoe shop????

(Shudder) Uhm, I don't think so - However, If you wanted to drag me in to the greenery to look at plants or "wild"life  then that'd be another story. :)

I own seven pairs of shoes and a pair of motorcycle boots. Guess which two pairs of footwear are regularly replaced?

LOL!
I hate shoes.
I'd rather be barefoot all the time.

So, I get the boots, but what's the second pair, Stephan? :poke:

The second pair is what you guys would consider a walk around pair of sneakers (Colorado's at the moment). I can wear them to the office or around because they're not too daggy and I don't need to wear "formal" most times. The formals don't get too much of a workout but it's good to have them if needed - just like the suit and all the other gear that disguises you during those "civilised" moments.

The motorcycle boots on the other hand get chopped up pretty quick :)

I wear a tie and formals everyday hhhhmmmm speaking of that I have to get back in that routine on Thursday. Yup you guessed my summer vacation of lounging and being somewhat unemployed is officially over :(

Ties

Yeeeech - I have a "few" :) that I haven't worn for about 6 months now. I'm fighting getting back to formal wear in a big way. I've been reassigned back to the office from field work and the meetings and senior executive type meet and greets are ramping up.

I'm balancing the "career limiting" stuff with a measured show of "respect"

Wearing clothes shows respect? I gotta love civilisation. Here I was thinking the root basis for respect was fear. Besides I look fairly homely no matter what I wear, at least I'm relaxed/comfortable in casual.

Our new principal has suggested that all males wear ties! We call 'em dog collars. I actually do not really mind dressing up everyday. We have a teacher at my school who wears a golf shirt everyday with a clip on(he keeps it in his desk drawer). A friend at another local school said her principal has outlawed open toed shoes for all teachers! :( For women that kind of limits what you can wear.

stephan, I was joking about the shoes.
I was simply admiring your ability to buy so many things (slippers for that matter) in a given time and money budget. you nock out most girls I know :poke:

Hmmm ---- Clip-on's??? That's cheating. You gotta know how to tie a knot man - bow ties are a pain. Thank goodness there's little call for them.

I work in a part of Brisbane called the Valley. It's a" bit" like the "Cross in Sydney. Mate, I've seen girls/guys wear all sorts. There's nothing that says they have to wear "girly" clothes you know?

Although --- it sounds like your friends Principal has a problem with feet - doesn't want temptation?

Nothing like a well turned heel on a nicely toned leg and girls get Sooooooo proud of their nail polish :)
