Okay. Thought it was about time I started posting some pics on this forum.
Here's Paph hirsutissimum var. esquirolei that's blooming in the dungeon annex this moring. This is how the flower looks when it first opens. I guess the waviness in the petals and dorsal come over a period of time. I'll repost more pics later as the waves start to develop.

Ahh, excellent, let the hirsutissimum frenzy begin! :)
Mine's just started opening yesterday. How long did it take yours to open to that point? It seems like a very slow opener. I'm excited and anxious to see this one in person.

Yippee! Mine is also in spike and it took forever to emerge from the sheath. Great pics, Joe and thanks for posting! Now I can't wait to see mine in bloom

I have a couple in spike now (third consecutive year for 1), and one bud opening now. It can take a week or so to get full size and ruffles, but the flowers may hold up for over two months.

That is a nice bloom Einstein- I have about 7 growths on mine and it looks like it is finally going to spike this year! Good job- Birdman
