Here's a couple Vandas blooming in the greenhouse now, both from RF Orchids.

The first is Vanda Eduardo Marcellini (sanderiana x Annette Jones)

Lovely Jon!
Can't/won't grow them , but I really enjoy seeing them. There were some lovely ones at my meeting on Saturday. Always enjoy them.

Tadd's right Heather.

I swore I'd control myself from Vandas, and now I have a peice of a tricolor thats starting to take over a corner of the GH.

I think if you hang enough vandas near the ceiling of a GH, you can skip using shade cloth.

Very nice vandas Jon. I especially like plants with sanderianum in them.

Awesome colors. I wish I had the space and light for vandas.

Thanks for all the compliments!
I started out thinking I would just grow a nice V. coerulea and maybe a couple other species. That didn't last! Between ones that caught my eye and ones I've inherited I now have around thirty of them(only a quarter of which are species). My crown jewel of which refuses to bloom. It's Vandopsis gigantea and very well named, it's over 3 feet tall and weighs over 25 lbs with very succulent growth. It started its very first spike this spring then promptly aborted before it was even an inch long.

I guess I'll share a photo of another of my favorites, my "palm tree" Vanda Rothschildiana. It's a little over 4 1/2 feet tall and will get topped if it ever throws some arial roots. This photo of it is almost exactly from a year ago, and it is currently in spike.
