I keep very few non orchids these days but this is one I love. I had admired this for years and a dear friend surprised me with 3 bulbs of it for my birthday 5 years ago. It has grown 2 new bulbs that are not mature yet and currently has 2 spikes with one in bloom.

Well managed to get it blooming so close to Christmas usually they generally bloom later.
In Portugal we have them outdoors all year but they are protected from rain or else I think they would rot. It is only hybrids we have and not so pretty as Yours
Congratulations an job well done.

thanks...this is one that is practically evergreen and does not go through a dormant period. It does not bloom at the same time each year for me. I also had one spike this past summer.I used to force hybrids to bloom for Christmas. The bulb would throw it's spike and bloom and afterward the leaves would develop. Not so with this one.

Hi Ron,
This is very special I remember your picture of it's last bloom and I keep saying I will find one but I haven't as of yet got one . It's in my mind though. Hopefully it will get much larger for you.
