species, not specie. You trying to push my buttons today, TADD? *GRIN*

species : noun -
1. A fundamental category of taxonomic classification, ranking below a genus or subgenus and consisting of related organisms capable of interbreeding.
2. An organism belonging to such a category, represented in binomial nomenclature by an uncapitalized Latin adjective or noun following a capitalized genus name, as in Ananas comosus, the pineapple, and Equus caballus, the horse.

usage - "Paphiopedilum rothschildianum is a wonderful species, so much more interesting than other paphiopedilum species."

specie : noun -
1. Coinage, sometimes (incorrectly) applied to paper currency.
2. Money
usage - "My credit card was declined, so I had to pay the orchid vendor in specie."

Wow

That is the redest, widest petaled leud I've ever seen. Most of the leuds I've seen look more like fasciata. Does it have know parents? You might consider getting that one judged.

Very nice.

Well it might be time to upgrade that award. How many flowers does it have?

Rick, it has one flower on that spike and another spike is in bud. Here is another photo of the flowers about a year or so ago.
