That is a spectacular collection of Cypripediums. I'll have to add some to my garden (winter inside) someday.

Indeed a lovely flower. The flat petal stance and laterally compressed and "tall" lip are very interesting...I'd have to say for sure it is a hybrid, but what is anyone's guess. Since it is likely of wild origin, I'd have to lump it into the complex of hybrids of northwest China and adjacent parts of Russia, to wit, another C. x ventricosum or a complex back-cross. Fantastic color and form, whatever it is.
