Hello Everyone,
New to the forums and wanted to show off my latest award. It is the first plant shown of a cross I made. This is Paph. (Hsinying Web x concolor) 'Ursa Major' FCC/AOS, 90 points. The cross will be registered as Paph. Ron Sims. It is a really neat feeling to not only get an FCC, but to get it on a plant that I made just makes it even better. I just wanted to share my excitement with everyone.

Hello Everyone..
Thank you for the compliments on my flower. I am attaching a photo of a sibling from the cross to show that not all of the offspring overpowered the concolor. This one bloomed out with more of a cream/yellow background with a pink overlay and spots. I will try to get a photo of a group of these showing foliage, as that varies quite a bit as well..

That is a huge difference between the two and yet they are both the same hybrid? Amazing!

Congratulations! I am not an expert at judging flowers but from the photo you posted it looks spectacular. I think your work was well earned and it shows! If this is your first product of your efforts, I can't wait to see what you may have to offer next time around.
And.... Welcome to the forum.

Hello Everyone,
Sorry it took me so long to get the foliage photos up. I took the photo of 3 siblings from the cross to show the variation in foliage color and pattern. The one at the back is Paph. Ron Sims 'Ursa Major' FCC/AOS, the one on the left is Paph. Ron Sims 'Ursa' (the pink one that I attached a photo of earlier in the thread) and the one on the right is an unbloomed seedling. Take care and bye for now.

Larry,
The flower had a natural spread of 9.7cm. The dorsal was 3.8cm wide and the petals were 5.2cm long. There was 1 flower and 2 buds on 1 inflorescense. I just put the pollen on another FCC of mine, Paph. Joyce Clark 'Ursa Major' FCC/AOS. Because both of them are 1/2 Maudiae types, and vini-colors at that, the hope is that we will have large, flat and very dark flowers with excellent substance and warm growing as well.
