View Full Version : Server down again? paphjoint August 8th, 2005, 07:55 AM Hi  Was unable to join my favourite forum since this morning (European time) Any server problems Paphraguy August 8th, 2005, 08:01 AM I don't know but I wouldn't be surprised if they were doing their regular "maintenance". Paphgirl August 8th, 2005, 08:02 AM Hi Uri, When I first woke up around 5:30, it was down for a few minutes, but then I could get on. I noticed though, that although the Aussies were on, it was very quiet. Generally at that time we have lot more of our international members around. I wonder if it was something w/ our server or otherwise. Not sure. It did get VERY quiet around 6:30 or so - just me and Stephan around, which is unusual for that time of day. Kev August 8th, 2005, 09:19 AM I had lots of problems gettng on last night and early this morning. Gideon August 8th, 2005, 11:10 AM I tried this morning too and it was down, as well as the old http://www.rainbowcomputers.net/forum/...for a few hours at least, I eventually gave up Wendy August 8th, 2005, 12:12 PM I was unable to get on the forum this morning as well. Olaf August 8th, 2005, 12:27 PM I had the same problem, but after some minutes all was ok again. It is really a good sign, that so members missed this page so much Best greetings Olaf Stephan August 9th, 2005, 04:58 AM It's almost 7pm here right now and I only just logged in about 10 minutes ago. It was much the same for me yesterday and the day before. Will it be like this everyday? No big drama, just won't bother trying to hook in if I know the forum isn't available. Cheers Stephan Paphgirl August 9th, 2005, 06:37 AM Argh! Stephan...that's wicked unfortunate! I sure hope not!! I'm sure there will be a question towards the company about this.... Paphraguy August 9th, 2005, 08:13 AM Stephan, the host usually do their maintanence late at night and unfortunately that is usually the time when most of our members outside of the US log on, sorry about that! I know it can be very frustrating especially when it happens so frequently and if they get worse, I may have to look for another host co. Thanks for letting us know! Gideon August 9th, 2005, 11:21 AM Pete, don't the US service providers send out an email when they have planned maintainance? I am webmaster to a few websites and part of my contract with them is to let me know in advance of any downtime, I currently use a German, and two South African hosts, one based in the US, all have a service level agreement, gaurenteeing uptime. You could then send/post a planned maintainance report to members stating times. Paphraguy August 9th, 2005, 11:31 AM Gideon unfortunately, they don't and that bugs me a lot! I do know that other web hosts do send out maintanence notifications. |
