Hi everyone! Happy new year!:D
Please, help me with a young Phrag.fischeri . I bought it 3 months ago from OrchidWeb. How you grow your fischeri?
in pure sphagnum he did not like, losing the roots. I know, that he likes alkaline. Now I repotting him in chips and diatomite. What are the better alternatives?
Sorry for my English...:embarass:

Hi Lisa! Your English is just fine.:D It does best in bark mix and it is very sensitive to water quality so use rainwater.

Thank you!:) I have 2 Phrags, including besseae, they are well in a mix of sphagnum, perlite and bark, sphagnum in pot -living. You recommend to put in the bark, but I am afraid, that the bark is acid + Our water with little salt, and fischeri loves alkaline substrats.
May be add limestone with irrigation?

If it works for your other Phrags then I think the mixture of sphagnum, bark and perlite should be fine to grow your fischeri in.

Don't let your plant stay extremely wet or extremely dry. I agree with Nancy about what she has said about your plant.
