Ack! - too many nice phal species pics lately!! A place where I still have room. Not for this one though, too big to hang in the kitchen window, I'm afraid.

Great job Ray. How big are the leaves? Is the whole plant really heavy? I have been toying with the idea of getting a small seedling so that by the time it matures, I can figure out some space for it. How long have you had yours? And how long did it take to mature?

The plant isn't really that heavy I have it in a ten inch basket with spag some med. fir bark charaoal and larger sponge rock. I bought the plant last winter bare root and I checked with Peter Lin of Big Leaf orchids as these are one of his favorites I think with his planting methods and also the person Ibought the plant from I think it turned out well I have it hanging so that one side of the basket is lower that the other so it hangs at a 45 degree angle. It had an old start of a spike but wasn't active so when this started growing I was more than happy. I guess it can take a spike a few years to start to grow and flower . never cut the green spikes on these. I hope to aquire more but they do take up room Crown rot is the biggest worry with these so with only one to take care of I give it special care to not get any water near the base of the leaves. The two large leaves are 17 inches the newest leave is 7 inches and the spike is twelve inches Thanks for all the comments Ray

Thanks Tadd it is but not strong and I can't yet describe it . Have to get the wife to give it the sniff test but she is still leary of smelling things after the trip to Tom's. Ray
