Sorry if the pictures not sharp. I have problems getting my camera to take close-ups.
Very faint fragrance on these flowers.

Jon, the ogonmaru threw out a new root last week, and I just noticed what looks like a spike coming along too.

Absolutely nothing going on with my Neo. from Suncoast.

Marcus, that's lovely!
You're potting job is just top notch, can't get over how perfect it is! :joy:

Mine neither - want another? :poke:
Seriously though, mine puts out lots of roots but nothing much else, I guess new growths but no spikes. I'm thinking of throwing it up for auction...

Heather,
I wish I could take credit for this potting job, but this is how it came from New World. I didn't have to do a thing.
FYI, New World has blue Neostylis Lou Sneery BS for $25. :poke:

Ohhh, oh oh... sorry, I was confused I thought this was the one you did (this one isn't HALF as nice as the one you did!) :)

SHHHH...H has a ban on all other genera except Phal species.
I will live vicariously through the lovelies you all post here. I will. Really. I will.

Really!

Marcus,

Looks great!

Do you keep it moist all the time or let it dry out?

thanks

I usually mist the heck out of it in the morning until the sphag is damp on the surface. And my fan usually dries it out by late afternoon. If I get it too wet, it stays damp until night, and that kinda worries me so I try to avoid that.

Very nice!
Glad to hear the ogon is adapting quickly, I'll let you know when the others are big enough to be divided.

All OTHER besides Paphs and Phrags.
I'm keeping the Phal species, but little (nothing?) else.

Nice Neo. I used to have one but it was the non-blooming variety  So I used it as part of a trade. Funny...it blooms for the new owner.

I also read somewhere today that these are supposed to be fragrant in the evening.... And they are pretty strong right now... I was a dumbass and smelling them in the morning before.

And then there are "nocturnal" ones like Brassavola nodosa, cucullata and the Angreacums like sesquipedales, they are all very fragrant only at night in the dark.

My wife smelled the neo last night and described it as jasmine with a hint of vanilla. My nose must be duller than a spoon because all I could smell was a floral scent. Then again she's pregnant and her nose is very sensitive...
