Does anyone of you have a photo of Paphiopedilum Gwen Hannen?
I' ve never seen a picture of it. Please post it here!
Gwen Hannen is parent of two interesting old Paphs:
FC Puddle x Gwen Hannen = Blanch Sawyer
Astarte x Gwen Hannen = Rosy Dawn

Paph Gwen Hannen has as a parent Paph Christopher which is a very influential parent and a possible tetraploid. Paph Christopher was a quantum leap in size and quality over prior hybrids.

Bill,
do you know if that particular clone of Paph Cristopher used for breeding is still around?
That'll be what I would call a classic Paph.
Best wishes, Carsten

Carsten,
I'm not aware of anyone possessing this clone at this time. As you indicate, that would be a nice plant to have. It was very influential in hybridizing, perhaps some older collections might have it.

There is a picture of Christopher in the Orchid Digest 'Paphiopedilums' Vol. 64 (4), 2000 on page 190. Photo is courtesy of Fred A. Stewarts. This may help...
