This little one grows like a weed, and I just love the interesting chains of flowers. Finished blooming a month ago.

Very cool!
I am going to have to collect more of these guys, maybe a few related genera as well.

Very nice, Gideon. :clap2: Do you have a pic of the whole plant, while it was in bloom?

You are right, Liparis virdiflora grows like a weed! I was fortunate to get one, with tons of plants in a 6" pot. The bulbs are conical and tall, with 2 leaves on top. There is this miniscule sheath atop the bulb, and it "bursts" open with this never-ending chain of flowers (you may have an abla form there, mine were the regular yellow with a tiny red spot), and have a displeasant smell. They are fun to have, and as for deciduous, I think they are, I am not sure if they normally are, mine lost all of its leaves, then suddenly died after fully blooming.....

Do you grow any of the South African orchids, like the common Disa uniflora? I hear there are Satyrium and Nigritella down there in S. Africa.....

alba form, very interesting, I never even knew there was a different form. It is the middle of winter here and it still has its leaves, also many new growths starting.

I do grow various South African orchids like Polystachya, Acampe, Aerangis, Ansellia africana (various clones), Bulbophyllums, Cyrtorchis, Mystacidium, Eulophia and Rangaeris, I plan on getting some Disas in September when I go to Cape Town
