The cross between Phrag. Sedenii with Phrag. warscewiczianum flowered 2 years ago near San Diego in the greenhouseof Helmut Röhrl. So I named the hybrid Phrag. Helmut Röhrl.
The flowers showed the typical staminode of Phrag. warscewiczianum and also the colour.
It would be interesting if there are more plants of this cross and how the variability is.

Dear Phrgmi-friends,
have anybody pictures of other crosses with Phrag. warscewiczianum. I know only the great, very dark Phrag. Wössner Supergrande, the cross with Phrag. longifolium, which is very often in culture in Europe and USA as Phrag. Grande.

Perhaps we could see here in the Forum pictures of some other crosses.

Best greetings from the rainy Bavaria

Hi Olaf!

The Grandes made with warscewiczianum are now called Supergrande here in the US. I don't have one except for a huge Grande.

It would be really interesting, when other crosses with Phrag. warscewiczianum would be shown here.
The question is if all theses crosses have so a deep brownish black colour

As an other example of the hybridization with Phrag. warscewiczianum here the hybrid with Phrag. besseae
Phragmipedium Super Rubies
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a42/og48/SuperRubieswarscewiczianumxbesseaek.jpg

The hybrid has darker flowers and a more compact growth then the cross with Phrag. caudatum (Ruby Slipper) or with wallisii (Maria Glanz, see in another thread), but has normally not so many flowers.

Best greetings
