I have a rossioglossum with a spike that it's last 2 flowers look like they want to open but can't do it, for 2-3 days now. when I seperated the petals they seemed to stick to one a nother on the edges. It happened to me before with a zygopetalum. what is causing that?
thanks

I would guess lack of moisture and humidity. Just a guess!

It's tough to say exactly without knowing your habits but I do know some species are frustrating like watching for a pot to boil and then 'pop' open. The only other thing I can say is to second what Pete said and increase the humidity and perhaps mist lightly.

Noting that you are in Israel I would suspect you would have an uphill battle to keep humidity up.

Is the humidity in your growing area about 70%?

humidity is around 50% this time of the year.
coming to think about it, the AC was on all night 2 nights ago. could this be the reason?
if it is, it's the last time I let my husband fall asleep in the living room...

 Amber, that last bit could easily fit in Heather's "You know you're an addict..." thread.

I was thinking the SAME thing!
Also, yes, I would think that might be hindering the opening, Amber.
