Hi all

I was wondering if any of the members had any experience with the following plants and what "quirks" they might have. I've, um, extended my collection again (with a few more to come from another source as well)

Phrag Franz Glanz = (richteri 'Green Giant' X besseae 'Bleeding Heart')
Phrag Mem Dick Clements (besseae 'CELEBRITY' X sargentianum 'STATEHOUSE').
Phrag wallisii 'Landsdale' X caudatum 'Boots n Laces'

With nightime temps hovering at or above 55 F and days around the 80 mark I figured it was safe enough to put them in S/H. What should I be prepared for?

Cheers
Stephan

Evening, Stephan!

I can't comment on the S/H as I have no experience with it.
Franz Glanz should be a pretty easy grower - very similar parents to my Mountain Maid (hirtzii x besseae) which grows very easily for me. Mine likes water quite a lot.

Mem. Dick Clements - I actually do not have but due to sargentianum I would imagine it too will be quite easy for you to grow - perhaps some others who own the plant can comment further.

I don't grow my caudatum type phrags (such was wallisii and caudatum) very wet - though I water them the same as my other Phrags, I wouldn't set them in water, however as we read in the water thread, some do. With regards to it being in S/H, I would again hope someone who grows these types in S/H will be in touch with you.

Good luck - three nice ones you got!

Hi Stephan!

I don't use s/h, so can't comment on that but your hybrids should be very easy to grow. Your day time and night time temps sounds fine especially during the winter months when you're trying to induce spiking and that they are all mature plants. Good luck!
