Paph delenatii in spike seeks tryst with interesting fellow Paph. Will swing both ways:  pollen or pod. Will accept shared custody of the offspring. All ideas welcome!

Hey, nice flower! I've got a charlesworthii spiking at the moment, although I haven't seen a flower yet to evaluate it. An odd idea, I know, but it would be interesting to see how the pink labellum of the delenatii and dorsal sepal of the charlesworthii would manifest.

delenatii x charlesworthii = Paph Bayeux ( Vach. and Lec.) 1985. Anyone have a picture?

Stephen, would your charlesworthii be big enough to carry a pod?

Yes, it's got 3 mature growths and some good sized starts. I could use it to carry the pod if you're interested in the cross.

It seems like an 'off the wall' kind of cross. Currently there are no AOS awards for it, but that's not surprising considering that the hybrid was registered in France by the famous firm of Vacherot & Lecoufle. It's possible that none of the plants ever made it across the pond. Have any of our European friends seen this cross? Would you care to comment on it?

Stephen, if the cross interests you, I will be happy to send you a pollinia in exchange for the right to buy a flask or two for the cost of production. This, of course, assumes that the pollination is successful.
