Hi All,

Just a reminder that Chicagoland Orchidfest is scheduled for the weekend of September 26-28, 2008. This year, we are pleased to announce that our friends at Ecuagenera will join Fox Valley Orchids, Ltd. as a guest grower at the Orchids By Hausermann, Villa Park, IL. complex. Ecuagenera is well known as a supplier of rare and exotic Ecuadorian orchid species and we look forward to sharing bench space with them during this festival. For those pre-ordering (highly recommended) please visit the Ecuagenera website at: www.ecuagenera.com.

See you all in September!

Hi Nick,

I don't think Phrag. kovachii is available from Ecuagenera. They do have the new species Phrag. andreetae, however. We have a few seedlings of Phrag. kovachii available for $195 /each __at the greenhouse only__ during the Festival while they last (there are five total and there is a limit of one seedling per customer). Seedlings are vigorous, with six inch leaf spans. PM me if you're interested. There are going to be only two guest growers at Hausermann's - us and Ecuagenera. We resigned our membership to the Chicagoland Orchid Growers Association last year and are now considered a "guest grower".

Thanks,

Yes... I looked at their catalog, and they didn't have any. I must have been thinking of Peruflora.
Even if you are a "guest grower", your GH will still be a main attraction because it is inside of Hausermann's. I have always noticed that the really busy places for the festival are always Oak Hill and Natt's (Natt's had tour buses unloading there when I visited last year... It was so packed that you could barely walk around without bumping into someone!!) and Hausermann's and Windsong Orchids are always less busy. The good thing about this is that it makes it easier to see all your wonderful plants..:hyper:

Hi Nick,

The tour busses stop at every grower's greenhouses during that weekend. They start arriving Friday afternoon and make their last stop on Sunday morning before leaving for home. Normally, we can expect to see folks from Minnesota, Michigan, St. Louis, etc. before the weekend's over.

Thanks,

I must just be lucky to miss them whenever I get to your place...http://www.slipperorchidforum.com/forum/images/icons/icon10.gif
