Just found a second new growth emerging near my most mature dianthum growth and figured I'd take a peek inside - woohoo! Sheath! Must be because we were talking about it last weekend!

I know I know - let's think good thoughts only, shall we?

I just found a new sheath on my Lebaudyanum also. Peter - now I know how quickly it SHOULD grow. It is green. Not purple like the last one...maybe that is a sign?

Actually I thought of you yesterday at the greenhouse, No I wasn't repotting Jason Fisher. My boss actually threw out an in sheath Roth because it had signs of a microfungus(I was so tempted to take it out and grow it outside away from my other plants :)I did find a Houghtoniae in sheath so I will post photos of that one later. Can't wait to see that one. Positive thoughts only.... +++++++++

No, it is a waste of time, and actually microfungus is deadly, spreads quickly and can be very devastating. We have a bunch of supergiant supardii in Europe, one of the growers contaminated all of them with microfungus... Yellow streaks with some brown.

Would you have a pic of microfungus to share here ? It would be extremely interesting and I do not have yet one at hand. It will be excellent advice, as many plants coming from Taiwan lately are contaminated. Heavily contaminated to say the least !

Whew! I thought it was going to be something about my dianthum!

I'd be interested in a photo of this as well, and gosh, any interesting diseases and pests. Like to know what I'm on the lookout for!

I will see if the plant is still there in the trash, or if someone took it out. I will take some photos also. Most likely it will still be there, because I am the only one who take sout the trash!

Good job on the dianthum Heather. I'd like to see this and parishii become more popular in collections.

Thanks Rick! :)
I think they are two very beautiful species. The jury's still out on what my parishii is doing....In sheath but could be empty. Don't know why I have such trouble with that. :?
