You keep talking about your Farries and I just felt I should have some to know what you are talking about. I called Parkside and ordered a couple.
I have treatened to sell my bed in order to grow orchids in my bedroom. Unfortunately that day is coming sooner that you think. My problem is I love to sleep so which goes......my bed or my plants?
Grandma
Paphgirl July 15th, 2005, 02:09 PM Definitely, keep the plants!

I heard that Texan orchid fanatics just sleep in their cars (pickups).
Steve T. can you verify?
Stephan July 15th, 2005, 04:20 PM I lived in a tent for the best part of a year once - it's not that bad (until it rains  )
An airbed, a cooktop and the necessary - what more do you need? Hmmmm food - ahh my coffee's almost perked.
Cheers
Stephan

You can often find a texan sleeping in their truck (yes, we all have trucks, it is state law) even if they don't have an orchid collection. However, I have discovered that it works best to rent apartments for my orchids. Right now, I have a 250 square foot N-NE facing balcony on the third floor with an excellent view of the pool. I park my car there and grow the orchids inside the rest of the 1000sqft. apartment.

  Thanks, Steve for the Funny.
Now I know why "All my Ex-es Live in Texas." Actually, I enjoyed my stay in the DFW area about 10 years ago. Hot as Hell for a New Englander, but the people were great and it was a dry heat. Pretty countryside when you get out of the city.
Paphgirl July 15th, 2005, 09:06 PM LOL! Steve - funny! Sometimes I worry about your abundance of humor! It is a little over the top...

TADD July 15th, 2005, 09:10 PM Welcome to the elite crew Grandma! Very few of us are allowed in this little fairrie club....:poke: lose the bed, sleep on the floor! Build shelves! Can't wait for your report on their orchids. I have been tempted to order a few more, but alas no money or credit....

dustyatticstuff July 15th, 2005, 09:34 PM EEEK!!! Heather, Not Mealies in my bed. They give me nightmares!!!!! Honestly they do, and I'm also having dreams about this forum and Paphs & Phrags. I have it really bad. I owe it all to you, girlfriend.:poke:
Grandma, I recommend LL Bean for sleeping bags if you run out of room! :D And will get one for myself if I stay with Heather. :poke:
Seriously though Grandma, Congratulations on your purchase. Please post photos when your plants arrive!!! I have a few fairrieanums and their hybrids, but have not had one bloom yet. When I get one to bloom, I will be sure to post a photo for Tadd. I think they are a fascinating species. They are hard to find. Enjoy!!!!!
