Hello,

I am in Florida, USA, and am reducing my collection to collecting and propagating (seed and meristem cloning) certain species of orchids, and mainly Parvisepalum Paphiopedilums. I saw Papuanum mentioned the Paph. vietnamense offered, Possibly you can help me where to get the plants, and am looking for ANY species of Parvi. Paphiopedilums. Please contact me at: mahon_orchid@yahoo.com or mahon.orchid@gmail.com I am really interested in obtaining large quantities of Paph. delenatii, and other Parv. Paph. (especially newer species) species for breeding and mass propagation. Thank you all in advance for your help.....

And for Olaf Gruss, I have Paph. micranthum stolons, the leaf has yellowed, what does this mean (is it a serious problem)? Do I keep these very wet and in a cooler climate? Any help would be appreciated, as I know you are very well recognized, so I trust your opinions and help. I will see as to the original description of your Paphiopedilum concolor var. longipetalum, I believe I have either seen this plant in person, or seen the micro-fische of the description and illustration......

Thank you all very much for your help,

Dear Patrick Mahon,
it is a real problem which happen very often. Normally it is a result of bad substrate, but I think this is not your problem. It would be better to place the plants a little bit cooler but not so wet.
It is really difficult to decide which problem you have because in all greenhouses you have special problems and normally you must see it at first.

Today I had the good luck to get the description of Paph. concolor var. longipetalum, but I would be ineterested for pictures of.

Best greetings

Olaf

Possibly phytophthora if leaves are yellowing erratically.

It is a common parvi problem...

I do not think the leaves are a "disease", but just some cultural issue that is occuring in my greenhouse, such as excess water or somehting I am unaware of. This happens to some of my other orchids, such as Peristeria elata, Spathoglottis gracilis, and some of my Phalaenopsis I have left. I am assuming that the leaves yellowing may have to due to age......?

Glad to hear you got your description, Olaf, and will search for that illustration I think I have seen. It isn't in Phillip Cribb's Paphiopedilum book? Thanks for the info for my Paph. micranthum, those stolons have a few years until the possiblity of blooming......

Thanks again for the help,
