Does anyone have pollen from Paph callosum available that you're fairly sure is truly the species? My flower has just opened a couple of days ago and I would like to get it knocked up. I would be glad to send you seedlings should our arranged marriage bear fruit, so to speak.

Thanks!
Mark

I've got a first bloom seedling in low spike. It's Paph. callosum (sib x ='Perfection' x 'Ninth' SM/JOGA). The only problem is yours is already in bloom. I don't know if my callosum will be able to 'get it up' in time to pollinate yours.

Yeah, who would be the Mommy? Or the Daddy?

Thanks, guys. It sounds like my plant may remain a virgin this time around. I'd self it, but since my goal is outcrossing for more genetic diversity I'll try not to do that. Guess I'll pimp around some other forums.

Waaaaaaait a minute! Ross, would you be interested in a pollinium from mine?(Tadd's mommy/daddy question just sunk in) I could store it. Don't be afraid to say no. It's not a huge or remarkable flower.

Incidentally this is the second plant I've ever gotten and my first Paph. I've managed to keep it alive for around ten years and it's gone from being so-so to downright healthy looking.

Mine's just a small, single growth seedling, hardly ready to get 'knocked up' by your brute! :poke: Maybe the flower will mature quickly enough for you to use the pollen. If your's just opened a couple of days ago, the window of opportunity is still open for a while, especially with Paphs. The spike on mine is up about 1 1/2 to 2 inches. How long would you estimate to blooming?

I'll look at my notes when I get home and see if I noted the timeframe.
