Congratulations Ramon. That is fantastic. What a beautiful Paph and brilliant photo. Certainly worth the award. How many flowers did you get on the spike?

Co-incidently I just purchased a Paph robinianum. Just waiting for it to be delivered. First time I've ever seen it available in Ausralia. Doesn't seem to be a common cross. I don't expect mine will be anywhere as nice as yours.

Congratulations again

David

Harold Koopowitz in his new book says that it is a cross that has rarely been done and can be hard to find. As I said previously, the one I picked up here in Australia last week is the first one I had seen for sale here although I can't say I've been actively looking. Bengal Lancers (haynaldianum x lowii) seems to have been a more common cross.

That second photo Ramon is mind blowing.

David, where did you get the plant?

I got it off Florafest Orchids. It is a division off one of their plants. I'm a bit dubious about it though. The leaves are quite soft (not rigid like other parishii hybrids i have) plus there is a some red mottling at the base of the growths. Much like a charlsesworthii. To me it looks more like it is from the cool growing Paphiopedilum group rather than the multi-florals.

Ramon - is the leaves on your plant plain green. Any red amongst it.

Cheers

Its already so rare to see a blooming parishii let alone having even heard of this cross. How far along is your specimen to blooming and are they any special care needed to grow this since both sides are tree dwellers?

The plant was purchased in spike. So I don't know how long it took. I find that it need to keep the medium moist so that the plant does not wilt.
