Since the plan is well under way to establish our forum domain name we decided to update the look of the web site. This new "theme" has been around for some time but we had not had an opportunity (or a glitch to resolve) that would encourage Peter to do the GREAT amount of work it his taken to install all of the added features.

After living with it for a few days, I will mention that one thing you will notice is that the "Submit" and "Preview" buttons are reversed, a feature which I know at least one of our members will be happy to see. If you poke around you'll notice other new features such as the "View all posts since your last visit" option, and that you can "close" a forum. So, for example, I don't have the classified section open on mine right now. Makes for easier, less cluttered viewing.

We hope you will like the simpler look as much as we do! Do let me know if you have any trouble and I will help as best as I can!

Thanks Everyone!

I think "new look" is now here. I just clicked out of a thread, and the entire board looked different.

Nice! however, one thing, it's so wide and does not resize. The old site used to resize to fit your screen, this one requires left and right scrolling to see/read all the text. Or is this just on my computer? I have my monitor on a very small resolution too, so usually everything fits on my screen.

Definitely fix this problem.

Now that's interesting...the 'old' look was the one that I had to scroll across the page to view the entire text on page one with page two being full screen and this version I don't have to scroll at all. I'm using 800x600 resolution.

I don't have the scrolling problem either - we did check that but I'm on a mac - will see what we can do!

Peter C - quick reply is just that - fast way to reply. No smilies unless you type the codes in. Otherwise not too different.

LOL! Steve! Knew you'd be happy.....

Looks nice!! But when I look at a thread, the first page is resized, but if the thread has a second page, it wont resize on my computer!
Another nice idea is to do like uk orchidforum at the front page, bottom: ukorchidforum
recent topics, popular topics by reply / view.

Not sure what the sizing issue is that's going on w/ folks, but I'm sure Pete will work on it when he has a chance.

Just FYI, I'm out of here for the day so if anyone has comments or problems, either post here or send Pete a PM. THANKS!

I use IE and my monitor is set at a hi res, so I don't have the scrolling problem also. Try setting your resolution higher than 800 x 600. In the meantime, I can look around for a solution. Thanks for the comments! :D

Except, if you type the moti code in, it works.

Oh really? I didn't know that. I think some of the emoticons don't work when you type in the codes.

I am quick replying....

Some of them like :Yuck: are caps sensitive, (which bugs the heck out of me!)

But I think as long as you get it right, they work here. :Yuck:
