Roy March 24th, 2008, 11:30 PM Midsomer Murders is a great show except the facts don't extend past the titles. I've watched the show a number of times and get a laugh every time. There are some nice orchids on display though. Shame about the judging.

The whole plant is plastic Lee.
Paphraguy March 25th, 2008, 09:52 AM I wonder if there are really Paph rothschildianum var aureum out there in the wilds of Borneo waiting to be discovered! If there are all green/yellow lowii, haynalidianum, philippinense and other Paph species, so why not roth.

Me too!!! On my list already lol
edkravcik March 27th, 2008, 12:31 PM I just looked at a pic of a purported alba rothschildianum on Tanaka's site a few weeks ago. It was a really poor pic and he did try to digitally enhance it but I still couldn't really get a clear look.
I did tape the show and watched parts of it last night. I am not a British mystery fan so I fast forwarded mainly to the paph parts. Amazing how the plants morphed so much.... perhaps some sort of genetic instability due to some recombinant dna gone wrong?
Anyway thanks for the head's up. It was good for a couple of laughs.
ed
Paul B March 27th, 2008, 12:38 PM Maybe it is a yellow paph roth x phal cross? lol I cant wait to see it just for the laughs.

Bolero April 5th, 2008, 07:17 AM Hey that show was on in Australia on friday night, I watched it to. It was actually fun to watch........enjoyed it immensely.
Especially the fact the miniature Cymbidium was best in show.

Paphi February 16th, 2009, 08:50 AM so pretty:heart::heart::heart:
orchidlover February 16th, 2009, 10:27 AM That does look like a real plant! You can just relax and enjoy it without worrying about feeding and watering it. LOL!
Paphy57 February 16th, 2009, 07:39 PM I also thought that was real when I first saw it!
Paul B February 16th, 2009, 07:50 PM Wow that looks so real!!do they make fake sanderianum plants?lol!
s1214215 February 16th, 2009, 11:11 PM They can make almost anything. A lot comes down to what you want to pay and how good the maker is. I bought some a few years ago (cymbidiums and a Laelia Purpurata) for a friend and they were so real. However the same maker did a lousy job on some harlequin phalaenopsis I asked for a sample flower.
I can get the address for you and you can email them with a picture of what you want and ask for a quote. They will post outside of Thailand
Brett
Paphraguy February 17th, 2009, 06:06 PM Very realistic looking! Had to take a double look! :lol:
